Hope you’re enjoying your break. Please take a few minutes to thoroughly read through this email:
1. This semester, club dues are going to be $50 and $80. Because we currently have no intentions on hosting a home meet, we have gotten rid of the $60 option.
2. As of now, we have a possibility of five meets for this coming semester. The first is on February 13th at University of Illinois. There is also a meet the following week, February 20th, at University of Indiana. There is also the Central Region Championship at Kansas on March 6-7, the National Championships in Atlanta (will probably be toward the end of March or beginning of April), and an East Coast Championship at Georgia Tech on April 9-11. We are trying to figure out the logistics for the meets in terms of expenses. For the first three meets, we tentatively plan on paying for travel and room/board, with all other expenses being the swimmer’s responsibility. Updates will be sent once these rules are more firm.
3. We are still awaiting more details for the meet at Illinois. I have attached the information that we have at this point for Indiana. Please take a look at it. There is also a correction: You can swim up to four individual events, not three as the sheet says. If you are interested in EITHER meet, PLEASE send an email to Katy Bergen. Also, please note that if you want to participate in either meet, you MUST pay your dues beforehand. Otherwise, we will probably have a due date around the end of February.
4. At the end of last semester, Herman put on a great workout for us. He has offered to do another workout on February January 18th, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day at 5pm 4pm. If you are interested in this, please let me know as soon as possible.
Other than that, it’s business as usual. If we are going to participate in the meets in Atlanta, we’re definitely going to have to do some fundraising. If you have any ideas, please do not be shy. Any questions or concerns in general, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you all back at the pool.

Once again, we would like to thank all the other swim clubs and members who participated in our Halloween Invitational. If it was not for other committed clubs willing to travel and swim with us, our meet would not have been near as exciting. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves while in Columbia and hope to see you at any future meets we might have.
Here are the results: Halloween Invitational Results.

Fellow Swimmers, MUSC dues were due over two weeks ago and it appears many of you have still not paid. If you are interested in swimming with the club for the rest of the semester please remember to pay your dues as soon as possible. In case you forgot, we have three levels of payment this year. $50 is the base fee which gives you membership for this semester and a MUSC shirt and cap, the $60 includes everything the base fee does and allows you to participate in our Halloween Invitational, and the premium $80 fee includes membership, shirt, cap, Halloween Invitational, and other future swim meets. Please be fair to the other members who have paid and get your dues to one of the following people: Ben Smith (Advisor), Hadleigh Tyler (Treasurer), Dave Blair (President), or Charles Ludeke (Vice-President).
